Garland woman denied parole in area murder

By Brad Kellar

– Parole is denied for a woman convicted of orchestrating the 1991 murder of a Garland woman, whose body was left in Hunt County.

The sister of murder victim Sandy Dial, launched the protest to keep DeEllen Bellah in prison, arguing Bellah would continue to pose a danger. The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles agreed when it met earlier this month.

Bellah was one of three people who were accused of killing Dial in order to obtain the proceeds of a fraudulent insurance policy.

Dial disappeared in December, 1991. Her body was found near Royse City two days later with a single gunshot wound to the head.
