GEUS board expected to take action on lawsuit settlement

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Another step will be taken to settle a lawsuit between a local electric utility and a state power agency. The GEUS board is expected this week to sign off on the final documents amending Greenville's power sales contract with the Texas Municipal Power Agency (TMPA). The GEUS board and the Greenville City Council have approved a global compromise and settlement agreement of a lawsuit involving the TMPA, which is comprised of the electric utility system in Greenville and the cities of Bryan, Garland, and Denton. The TMPA operates the coal plant that powers the cities.
