Gigliotti Files To Run Against Ratcliffe In GOP Primary

U.S. Rep.  John Ratcliffe will likely have at least one opponent in the upcoming Republican primary election.

Lou Gigliotti of Princeton has filed to be on the Texas Republican Party ballot along with Ratcliffe.

Filing for the March 1, 2016, primary elections began on Nov. 14 and continues through Dec. 14. Early voting for the primary elections will occur Feb. 16-26.

Ratcliffe represents Texas District 4 of the United States House of Representatives, which includes most of Northeast Texas. The set was held by Ralph Hall from 1981 until 2015. Hall joined the Republican Party in 2004 after having been a member of the Democratic Party until that time.

No Democratic Party candidates have filed for the office.
