Hunt County – It is looking as if there will be GM products available in Hunt County in the future.
A representative for Britain Chevrolet in Greenville tells the Herald Banner they did not get the notification letter hundreds of other GM dealers nationwide received last week.
Reports indicate the three other GM-affiliated dealerships in Hunt County were also unaffected by the closure.
General Motors informed 1,100 dealerships Friday they would be dropped by the corporation when their contracts end late next year. The company has not released a final list.
Also last week, Chrysler Corporation announced it intended to eliminate approximately 1,900 dealerships. Again, none of Hunt County's stores were affected, but several in North Texas will be forced to close by June 9.
