CANTON - State Troopers have turned over evidence in the case of Frederico Acuna to the District Attorney's office, which is to be presented to the Van Zandt County Grand Jury later this month.

Acuna could face charges of criminally negligent homicide for the August 20 incident where he lost control of a sport utility vehicle and overturned along Interstate 20.

Authorities say the crash was caused by a blown tire. Reports show none of the children in the SUV were wearing seat belts.

Those killed were 13-year-old Rosbelia Jaimes, 7-year-old Omar Jaimes, 6-year-old Saideth Acuna, 3-year-old Yuliza Acuna, and 2-year-old Judith Jaimes. Seven others involved in the wreck were taken to area hospitals.
