Greenville – The City of Greenville is about to set is budget and tax rate. The City Council is scheduled Tuesday to formally adopt a $50.34 million budget, which includes a cut in the property tax rate from the current 76.4 cents per $100 valuation to 72 cents. The proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year includes pay increases for all city employees, a new fire truck and playground equipment.
Last Tuesday, the Commerce City Council adopted its budget, as well as a tax rate of 73 cents per $100 valuation, a decrease of three cents from the previous year.
