Greenville bans K2 sales within city limits

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – The City of Greenville joins a list of other area Texas cities to ban the use of the controversial product K2.

The City Council Tuesday voted to ban the substance outright; prohibiting the use, purchase, possession or sale within city limits.

Commerce, Sulphur Springs, McKinney, Van Alstyne, Allen, Plano and Mansfield are among other area cities that have either banned the substance entirely, or voted to restrict the product's sale to individuals under 21.

Although sold as incense and labeled not for human consumption; K2, when smoked, is said to give a marijuana-like high.
