GREENVILLE - Officials marked the start of construction on a $1 million renovation to Graham Park Friday morning.

The city council earlier this week awarded the bid for the renovation. The park is expected to be closed beginning next week through the summer, with improvements to be completed by this fall.

Improvements include fountains, a fishing pier, a nine-hole disk golf course, a walking trail, a dog park and splash pad. The city was awarded a $500,000 grant for improvements to the site, and is providing a $500,000 match.
