Greenville Council to Hold Special Session

City of Greenville

The Greenville City Council will be meeting in a special session this week. The council is scheduled to convene one more time this year to accept the resignation of city attorney Brent A. Money.

The council is set to meet in a special session at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Municipal Building downtown, at which time they are also scheduled name Daniel W. Ray as City Attorney.

Money was named attorney in January, 2008 after the resignation of Robert L. Scott. Money had been filling in the city attorney since the summer of 2007.

Ray, who works in the same law firm with Money and Scott was hired as the assistant city attorney at that time.

Earlier this month, the city council hired Scott as a special counsel to represent the city of Greenville in all matters related to L-3 Communications Systems.
