Greenville – The City of Greenville again plans to discuss eight liners this week.
Plans to look at the issue during Tuesday's meeting come just a few months after banning the illegal gambling devices from most locations inside the city limits.
In October, the Council voted to prohibit the opening of eight-liner arcades inside the city limits for 12 months. There were exceptions to the ordinance. The machines would be permitted as fund-raising mechanisms for certain non-profit groups such as the Elks Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. The ordinance would also not affect those machines which were already in operation, provided they were operated legally.
