Greenville drops suit against local hotel

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A local hotel is no longer under fire after making good on their fair share of taxes. The City of Greenville has dropped its suit against the Quality Inn along East Interstate 30. The suit was filed early last month. Greenville City Attorney Brent A. Money recently filed a motion to dismiss the injunction, saying the hotel is now in compliance, noting they had paid in full all penalties, interest and attorney's fees. According to the suit, the Quality Inn had allegedly failed to pay its full hotel occupancy tax for September through December, as well as a portion of August, in 2008.
