Greenville ISD dress code on fast track

By Kevin Jefferies

Greenville – The first of three public meetings to consider the implementation of a standardized dress code for the Greenville ISD is scheduled for this Thursday. The Herald Banner reports that the possible dress code for the district seems to be on the fast track and a committee begins to examine the issue. Over 70% of responders to a questionnaire sent out in the mail were in favor of a standardized dress. However, the questionnaire was at the end of a letter that outlined advantages of the code, but did not address any disadvantages. The surveys are still being accepted by the committee and are available at each campus and online at www.greenvilleisd.org.

The first of a possible three public hearings to discuss the idea and gather public input is scheduled for 7pm Thursday at the Greenville High School.
