A motor vehicle accident on SH 24 near Campbell on the morning of Dec. 2 resulted in a Greenville man being airlifted to Parkland Hospital in Dallas with serious injuries.

At approximately 7:35 a.m., a Ford F-15o pickup truck driven by Juan Lara, 29, of Greenville, crashed into a large tractor-trailer on SH 24, just north of Interstate 30 and south of Campbell, a Department of Public Safety official said.

Lara's pickup was traveling north when it struck the 18-wheeler, which was blocking the northbound lanes while attempting to turn south onto SH 24, police said. The tractor-trailer was driven by James Wallace, 47, of Lindsay, Okla., officials said. The vehicle was leaving the parking lot of the Valero Campbell Store and Cafe, they said.
