Greenville man indicted in Smith County murder

By Scott Harvey

Greenville – A Greenville man is one of two people indicted on capital murder charges for the May 16 stabbing death of a Tyler man.

35-year-old Omar Sharis Jackson, along with 25-year-old Keyona Henderson, of Tyler, are alleged to have killed 42-year-old Patrick Pinkerton inside his home.

The two could face life in prison or the death penalty if convicted.

It was Jackson who called police to report Pinkerton's death, claiming he had discovered the body. According to Tyler Police, Henderson was an acquaintance of Jackson's and was present when the murder was committed. She was arrested a few days after Jackson's arrest.

As of Tuesday morning, each remained jailed in the Smith County Jail on $2 million bond.
