Greenville Police detective earns state award

By Bill Oliver

Greenville, TX –

Detective Wesley Russell with the Greenville Police Department is this year's officer of the year in the Texas Narcotics Officers' Association north region. Over 60 counties are in the region, including the Metroplex. It stretches along the Red River from west of Wichita Falls to the Texas border with Arkansas, south to Carthage, then west through Hillsboro, Granbury, to north of Abilene.

From a news release, Greenville Police Chief Harold Roseberry said many arrests are made each year due in large part to the efforts and dedication of Wesley Russell. Roseberry also noted Russell was selected by his peers, whom the chief says, "is a testament to his work ethic and the level of professionalism Russell exhibits among his fellow narcotic officers in the State."
