Greenville – A new fire truck is approved for the City of Greenville.
The Greenville City Council Tuesday approved the purchase of a new 75-foot ladder truck, to replace the city's only ladder apparatus. The current ladder truck has been out of service for most of a year and has had difficulty in passing the inspections needed to operate.
Under a capital lease purchase arrangement, the city would make an upfront payment of $225,000, with $65,000 annual payments. The new truck would be assigned to Fire Station No. 3, with the outgoing ladder truck moved to Station No. 4.
