Greenville to submit grant for Graham Park

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – Greenville's Graham Park could see some improvements soon.

The city council is scheduled Tuesday to discuss authorizing the application for a $500,000 grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Should the grant be awarded, the city would need to provide a $500,000 match.

A public hearing is set prior to the Council taking a vote on the issue.

The outdoor recreation grant would be used for improvements such as fountains, a fishing pier, a disk golf course, a dog park and a splash park. The banks of the Graham Park "lake" would be stabilized, playground equipment would be upgraded, added and replaced and the parking area would be renovated.

Should the city vote to submit the application, it won't be until January before they learn if they'll receive it.
