Greenville trash pick-up to cost more

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – It'll cost a little bit more for some residents to have trash picked up this fall. That's due to a five-year agreement reached Tuesday between the City of Greenville and Independent Environmental Services. There will be an increase in the monthly rate, along with the implementation of a new fuel surcharge on each month's bill. Starting Oct. 1, rates will increase from $10.65 per month to $11.82 per month. In exchange, City Manager Steven Alexander explained the company will be providing a long list of new and improved services.
