Greenville woman assigned attorney

By Kevin Jefferies

Greenville – A Greenville woman facing murder charges in connection with the drowning death of her infant son a year ago has been appointed an attorney. 33 year old Christi Denice King filed a writ of habeas corpus earlier this week seeking a reduction in her $1 million bond or seeking to have an attorney assigned to her case. Greenville attorney Jack Paris was assigned to represent King.

King was arrested January 11th in connection with the death of her son, 10 month old Elisiah Miguel Guajardo, who died in January of last year.

According to a criminal complaint, Guajardo drowned in King's bathtub. King allegedly placed the boy in the tub and left the water running while she placed an 11-minute call. She told investigators she discovered the boy in the tub under the running faucet. He was taken to Presbyterian Hospital and was pronounced dead.
