Greenville woman pleads guilty to stealing rent payments

Greenville – A woman has pleaded guilty to stealing rent payments from Greenville apartment dwellers. Jennifer Ann Sloan, of Greenville, entered the guilty plea Thursday to one count of misapplication of fiduciary property valuted between $20,000 and $100,000 by aggregate amount. Under a plea bargain arrangement Sloan was placed on 10 years of deferred adjudication probation, ordered to pay $20,600 in restitution to her victims and ordered to complete 200 hours of community service. Sloan was alleged to have misappropriated rent payments ranging from $63 to $675 each for her personal use on more than 80 occasions between 2003 and 2005. The total of the payments came to more than $42,700.
