Guilty plea and sentence come down in Campbell robbery

By Brad Kellar

Campbell – A guilty plea and sentence have come down in the robbery of a Campbell store.

Thomas Charles Jones, of Lewisville, Arkansas, admitted Thursday to the armed hold-up of the Campbell Store in November, 2007. He was sentenced to 28 years in the prison on the robbery charge and 10 years on a perjury charge. Jones had been scheduled to go to trial Monday prior to his entering the guilty pleas.

Candi Nadiyah Hillard, whom authorities say is Jones' wife, previously pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of robbery, was sentenced to 10 years in prison and had agreed to testify against Jones.

An employee of the Campbell Store was reportedly injured when he was struck by Jones, who allegedly was wielding a knife during the incident in 2007. Both subjects were later captured in Hopkins County.
