Guilty plea and sentence issued in injury to a child case

GREENVILLE - The second of two people involved in the brutal treatment of a child in 2008 is ordered to 60 years in prison.

Charles Dwayne Mayo, of Terrell, pleaded guilty Wednesday to injury to a child for his role in setting a child on fire. Six of the charges against him were dismissed.

One month ago, Misty Laverna Dale Mayo, of Kaufman, was sentenced to hundreds of years in prison after previously pleading guilty to seven indictments.
