Guilty plea entered in evading arrest case

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – A Greenville man has been sentenced to prison for leading law enforcement on a chase last month.

A judge on Wednesday issued an eight year punishment for Rodney Lee Harrison for evading arrest. Harrison had previously pleaded guilty to the charge stemming from the May, 2010 incident.

Officers attempted to pull his vehicle over for a traffic stop, leading to a pursuit that traveled through ten different streets in north Greenville before entering westbound Highway 380, where Harrison reportedly entered the eastbound lanes on several occasions at speeds of 80 mph. Eventually a spike strip was laid, brining the chase to a halt.
