One man indicted on armed robbery charges in connection with a reported home invasion in Greenville has been sentenced to prison.
Payton Ryan Loya and Damontreous Deuntay Williams, both of Greenville, were indicted by the Hunt County grand jury in September on one count each of aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, burglary of a habitation with intent to commit other felony and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
The indictments alleged Loya acted alongside Williams, who was arrested at around 12:30 p.m. August 11 and was alleged to have forced his way into a home, to have held a gun to the head of a female victim while in the course of committing a theft and to have stolen the victim’s 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis. Loya pleaded guilty to all three indictments during a hearing Wednesday. Under a plea bargain arrangement, Loya was sentenced to 15 years in prison on both the robbery and burglary charges and two years in a state jail on the automobile theft indictment.
