A Texas gun instructor who said he wouldn’t teach Muslims how to handle a firearm won’t lose his state license over the controversial radio spot.
Crockett Keller affirmed with the Texas Department of Public Safety on Monday that he would not close his concealed handgun class to anyone “based on national origin, race or religon.” The investigation is now closed, according to the agency. Keller made headlines when a clip of his radio spot went viral on YouTube. Keller also discouraged “socialist liberals” and supporters of President Barack Obama from signing up for his class in Mason County. Muslim groups condemned the ad, and some locals who know Keller described him as a character who likes attention.
