Harrison steps down as Commerce Assistant Police Chief

COMMERCE - Steve Harrison has resigned as assistant police chief for the City of Commerce. His role as emergency management coordinator has been reassigned.

City Manager Marc Clayton says Harrison submitted his letter of resignation on November 14. He joined CPD in April 1997.

Harrison served as a patrolman before becoming a lieutenant and later was promoted to assistant chief. He also served as emergency management coordinator for the city. Fire Chief Brian McNevin has now been assigned to that role.

Clayton says Harrison cited in his letter he was leaving the department to pursue other interests.
