COMMERCE - The Southern District Health Division Awards Committee has named A&M-Commerce instructor Tara Tietjen-Smith this year’s University Heath Educator of the Year.
Dr. Smith is an assistant professor in the Department of Health and Human Performance.
She was one of two dozen A&M-Commerce faculty to receive the Student Recognition Award for Teaching Excellence this summer.
Tietjen-Smith will be recognized at the Health Division Health Linkage Breakfast, Assembly of Members meeting, and the Southern District Awards Ceremony where she’ll receive a plaque.
The state award makes her eligible for the national award.
