Health Plan discussed in County Court

Community Health Service Agency, Inc. presented information for the Commissioners and Court for a service agreement between the agency and Delta County and its employees. Several questions were answered during the discussion. The item was tabled allowing for a meeting with employees.

Following a situation with a pauper of Delta County the Court opted to establish a budget line item for cremation services if need arises. They agreed to include it in the next budget session.

Delta County Treasurer Bonnie Hobbs also presented a fraud policy for Indigent Health which she had Delta County Attorney Jay Garrett review prior to bringing it before the Court. It was also approved by the Indigent Health Care of the State of Texas. The fraud policy was accepted 4-0.

A resolution for the participation in the TDHCA HOME program was passed unanimously 4-0 with Charles Edwards of Resource Management helping to execute the details.

Sheriff Smith said during his report that Delta County Sheriff’s office placed first in the scoring committee for the grant for a 4-wheel drive patrol vehicle. He commended his Chief Deputy Charla Singleton for her work in completing the grant.

Delta County received a tobacco settlement for the fiscal year 2016 just over $889.

Delta County Commissioners Court will meet again on Monday, May 9 at 9 a.m.
