State Highway 24 is now open between Cooper and Commerce.
Part of the road had been closed since March 20 due to flood waters in the area. Texas Department of Transportation workers removed water throughout the day on March 23 and the road re-opened during the early afternoon.
The section that had been flooded was in the same area that has been under construction. Just west of Cooper, SH 24 is down to two active lanes, as crews are working on a project to broaden the highway.
