Homecoming activities at <BR> A&M-Commerce

By Bill Oliver

Commerce, TX –

Homecoming activities at Texas A&M University-Commerce get into high gear Friday and Saturday.

Friday night's schedule includes the bonfire and pep rally behind Whitley Hall, starting at 8 p.m.

Saturday's highlights include the first homecoming parade in 15 years. Nearly 30 entries pull out from the Science Building parking lot at 11 a.m. The parade route goes down South Neal to Culver, past Whitley Hall, and down the service road to University Drive. President and first lady Keith and Nancy McFarland are the grand marshals.

Following the parade is the tailgate party and related activities on the West Lawn. KETR will be broadcasting from the tailgate party until our football pregame show starts at 1:30.

Also on Saturday, the Morris Recreation Center is open for free family fun. And the MRC along with the Memorial Student Center will be selling homecoming t-shirts, featuring the university's new spirit logo and this year's homecoming theme, "Ride With Pride".

Nearly all the homecoming activities can be found at the university's website, tamu-commerce.edu. One addition is the Sigma Chi fraternity is having a dinner and reception immediately following the football game at the University Inn.
