Hopkins County gets money to fight crime

Hopkins County – Hopkins County will be receiving nearly a quarter of a million dollars in grant money to help fight crime. Governor Rick Perry allocated $3.6 million to help establish special units targeting violent crime and drug enforcement. The funds will allow local officers to obtain the latest law enforcement equipment. Sulphur Springs has already partnered with the Hopkins County Sheriff to establish a special crimes unit.
