Hopkins County Officials Look to Set Weight Limits

Commissioners in Hopkins County are closer to getting long-sought-after weight limits set for county roads.

On Monday, the Commissioner’s Court agreed to pay KSA Engineers $21,500 to determine weight limits. Commissioners are trying to better regulate heavy-truck traffic in the county. County Judge Robert Newsom wants limits to be set at 80,000 pounds.
