Greenville, TX –
Authorities seized 75 horses from a ranch south of Greenville last week and charged the owner, Richard Holtzmann, with multiple counts of animal cruelty. Holtzmann has sued Hunt County for the return of the horses and over $1 million in damages.
A custody hearing regarding whether the horses will be formally transferred to Habitat for Horses was scheduled for Thursday before Justice of the Peace "Sarge" Erwin in Greenville.
