Hospital board to consider facility renovations

Greenville – The Hunt Memorial Hospital District Board of Directors meets Tuesday night to discuss possible renovations to its Greenville Hospital.

In February, the board hired We Build, of Paris, to draft a proposal for the guaranteed maximum price for the renovation of the fifth floor at Hunt Regional Medical Center.

The Greenville Herald-Banner reports the scope of the renovations would be major, including the replacement of existing plumbing and other utilities. The fifth floor, however, would remain a medical floor.

Also Tuesday, the board is expected to cancel its May 8 election, as none of the four seats that expire were contested. Incumbents Joe Johnson, Sue Porter and Scott Stegall re-filed, while John Nelson opted not to seek another term. Nelson will continue to serve on the board until a replacement is appointed to the post.

Tuesday's meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. on the sixth floor of Hunt Regional Medical Center.
