Hunt County Commissioners to consider IRIS

By Kevin Jefferies

Hunt County – Hunt County Commissioners will discuss whether or not to participate in the IRIS system at today's regular meeting. The Immediate Response Information System, or IRIS, is a mass notification tool for emergency and non-emergency information. IRIS is currently used by the A&M-Commerce police for notifications.

Other items on the agenda are licensing for background assistance software for the Sheriff's Department, possibly approve a labor standards officer, and possibly approve the purchase of a new truck for the Hunt County Environmental Enforcement Department.

The Commissioners Court meets at 10 a.m. today in the Auxiliary Courtroom on Johnson Street in Greenville.
