Hunt County Commissioners hire attorney

By Kevin Jefferies

Hunt County – The Hunt County Commissioner's Court has approved the hiring of an attorney to represent the county during civil litigation involving Sheriff Don Anderson. In an emergency meeting Friday, it was found that Anderson does have sufficient bond to hold office. A public group had been demanding to see the bond for more than a month.

Anderson is involved in a civil lawsuit with CAN Surety and Western Surety after the companies said they would be replacing missing funds from the inmate trust fund and would be canceling Anderson's bond.

The Fort Worth law firm of Blaies and Hightower will represent the county in the case.
