Greenville – Commerce resident Sue Davis has requested a recount of Saturday's election results for the City Council Place 2 seat. Davis was defeated by Incumbent Bob Monday by one vote, 236-235.
The Hunt County Voter Administration Office received the request Tuesday. They're scheduled to conduct a recount beginning at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Saturday's other closely contested race occurred between Tim Stainback and Dan Perkins for the Greenville City Council Place 1 seat. Neither candidate was able to claim 50 percent of the vote. A June 5 runoff will determine the winner.
