Hunt County – John Horn is in as Hunt County Judge. In one of the most watched local elections, challenger John Horn took the Republican vote from incumbent Joe Bobbitt for Hunt County Judge. Horn finished the evening with 57.4% of the vote to Bobbitt's 42.5%. Since no Democratic or third party candidate has filed for the position, the race likely decided the next Hunt County Judge.
In another race where the Republican Primary likely decided the winner of the office, Incumbent Delores Shelton defeated challenger Delores Humphries with 3,196 votes to Humphries' 1,244.
Unless a recount is called for, incumbent Ralph Green has won the primary for Precinct 2 Commissioner in Hunt County by a narrow margin over Jay Atkins. 21 votes separated the two.
A run-off is coming in the Hunt County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 election, as incumbent Jimmy Sumrow ended with 286 votes and Aaron Williams collected 278 votes.
Both State Senator Bob Deuell and Representative Dan Flynn won their primaries by wide margins.
