Hunt County identity theft defendant sentenced

GREENVILLE - A suspect in a widespread identity theft scheme targeting individuals across Hunt County is ordered to six years behind bars.

In addition to her admittance to engaging in organized crime, Linda Carole Hill was also sentenced to two years in a state jail on a separate charge of forgery. More than a dozen individuals still have charges pending in the case.

Hill, of Caddo Mills, was alleged to have passed forged checks at local businesses between May and November 2010. As part of a plea deal, Hill agreed to testify against the remaining defendants in the case.
