Hunt County – A Hunt County man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to stealing metal from a convenience store.
James Bryan Compton, of West Tawakoni, entered the plea during a hearing Wednesday. Under a plea bargain arrangement, he was sentenced to six months in a state jail.
Reports indicate Compton was observed ripping an aluminum conduit from the roof of Scotty's Convenient Store on September 25. He was arrested and charged with theft of tubes, rods, wire or cable consisting of at least 50 percent copper, at a value of less than $20,000.
