A murder trial is getting underway in Hunt County today. Opening arguments and the start of testimony are scheduled today in the trial of Tyrone Leorone McCurdy charged with murder in connection with a 2011 shooting death in Greenville.
A jury was seated Tuesday in the 196th district court.
McCurdy and Bernard Dale Kelley Jr. both of Greenville, have each pleaded not guilty to one count of murder in connection with the shooting death of Treybbian Leekey Nelson of Greenville.
Kelley currently has trial scheduled in December.
Officers with the Greenville police department responded to a call of shots fired in the 1000 block of Edgar Street on the afternoon of February 8th, 2011, where they found that Nelson had been shot.
