The property tax rate for Hunt County may be taking a dive in next year's budget. Budget sessions for the county haven't begun yet, but County Judge Joe Bobbitt said he expects sufficient revenue for the county to allow a decrease in the tax rate. Raises in land appraisals in Hunt County likely spell benefits for local taxing agencies, and should allow for a decrease in the county property tax rate.
