Hunt County severe weather recap

Commerce, TX –

Rivers and creeks are receding following heavy rainfall Tuesday. The rain gauge from atop the Science Building at Texas A&M University-Commerce measured 4.6 inches. That brings the March rainfall to 9.83 inches.

The combination of rain and winds measuring close to 50 miles per hour caused power outages south of Commerce Tuesday night from just after 9 p.m. to just past midnight.

The Commerce Fire Department was called out to perform a high-water rescue Tuesday when a driver lost control of their vehicle and plunged into the median, which was full of rushing water. No injuries have been reported due to any of the storms in the area.
