Hunt County sues two Wolfe City residents

By Kevin Jefferies

Wolfe City – Hunt County has filed a lawsuit against two Wolfe City residents that have erected a gate across what officials say is a county road. The two say it isn't--it's just their driveway.

Court papers allege Gary and Ronnie Cessna erected a gate across Spur 4903 without consent and attempted to close the road off to public access. But the Cessna's attorney says the road is, in reality, a private driveway, and only suddenly became a county road when a sign was put up. Until then, it had never been recognized as a county road, is not listed on any maps, and is not designated a county road in any of the Cessna's deeds.

Hunt County has asked for a restraining order for removal of the gate until the issue is decided in court.
