Hunt County – Hunt County Commissioners plan to reveal the proposed property tax rate for the county today. The Commissioner's Court meets in regular session today and is expected to reveal the proposed property tax rate for the upcoming fiscal year. That could mean a five-cent tax cut for Hunt County residents.
Judge Joe Bobbitt said the plan that cuts the tax rate by five cents is the one he prefers. It would drop taxes from 56.7 cents per $100 of property value, to 51.7 cents. If approved, that would mean the lowest tax rate in the county since 1999.
