Commerce – It was a melancholy farewell to Bonnie Hunter during Tuesday night's Commerce School Board meeting.
Board members and Superintendent Blake Cooper expressed their deep appreciation for Hunter, who has served as Cooper's administrative assistant for the past two years, and been with CISD for the past 18 years.
It was Hunter's final board meeting with the district before she assumes the role of Commerce Economic Development Corporation Executive Director next month.
"I'll be lost without her," said a tearful Superintendent Blake Cooper. "She does so much for this district."
Hunter has served in her current position with the district since 1997. She's also previously held other positions within the district and at Texas A&M University-Commerce, plus as a legal secretary in law offices in Dallas.
