Greenville – The Hunt/Rains Unit of the American Cancer Society will be holding its annual Relay for Life event in the coming weeks. Nationwide, the Relay event has raised more than $300 million to fund cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services. Last year's event attracted 53 teams and raised more than $76,000. So far, 56 teams have signed up for this year's relay in Greenville. Co-chair of the Relay for Life event, Ron Wensel said the Relay gives everyone in the area an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer.
The Relay is set for overnight June 10th at Phillips Field in Greenville. Activities and local musical entertainment are scheduled all night long. For more information, contact Ron or Julia Wensel at 903.496.2226.
