'I Can Only Imagine' Debuts March 16

I Can Only Imagine, Facebook

Alice Reese, Herald-Banner movie critic, says "I Can Only Imagine," a film based on the Christian-contemporary hit song by Mercy Me, comes out on Friday, March 16.  Mercy Me was founded in Greenville, with Bart Millard as the lead singer.  Alice says "I Can Only Imagine" is a very effective film, and she expects it to be a big hit. It stars Dennis Quaid, Cloris Leachman and Trace Adkins.  New this weekend (March 9) is the Disney film "A Wrinkle In Time," based on the children's novel, and featuring Oprah Winfrey and Reese Witherspoon.  Alice says it's technically impressive, but she finds the story confusing.

John Mark Dempsey is the host of the public interest program The Blacklands Café from KETR News. Dempsey is also the play-by-play announcer for Commerce Tigers Football on 88.9 FM and on ketr.org.
