Greenville – An interim police chief will soon be named in Greenville.
Assistant Police Chief Scott Smith is already the acting chief of the Police Department. The City Council Tuesday will officially give Smith the interim title.
Smith began serving as acting police chief upon the retirement of former Police Chief Harold Roseberry on April 30.
An internal search is currently underway to fill the post, with at least four candidates who've applied for the position.
The interview process is schedule to begin on May 17.
