Investigation continues in accident at wastewater line

FAIRVIEW - An official with a Collin County town where a sewer line accident killed one man says a blockage has been found that could be the body of a missing second worker.

The town manager of Fairview, John Godwin, says crews worked Friday to identify the "unusual obstruction." Godwin told The Associated Press that a camera will be sent through the sewer line.

Emergency officials say two men, while not wearing protective breathing equipment, were apparently overcome by fumes while working on the line around 8 a.m. Thursday. A third worker called 911.

Godwin says the first body was located later Thursday morning and has been removed from the sewer line. Names of the victims have not been released.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been called in to help investigate.
